Executive Director and full-time therapist,
Shepherd’s Counseling
Services, a non-profit agency dedicated to working with adult
survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Founded by Sister Vera Gallagher, the
agency is unique in striving to provide affordable, professional clinical
services to both men and women. They see about 100 clients per year, and
they offer long-term therapy. Most clients stay with the agency for more
than 2 years, and their testimonials often include words such as, "for the
first time in my life, I have found safety." |

John Morefield, former Seattle Public Schools principal and former Emerald
City Rotarian, will speak on his new project. John and his wife, Kathy,
travel to Cambodia to work with school principals in that country to teach
them how to run schools. The average principal there has an 8th
grade education. The project has funding from the World Bank.

Rebecca
Sadinsky, Executive Director,
Powerful Schools, will
speak on her organization and how it empowers schools to achieve higher
levels of performance. Rebecca has
over 20 years experience leading community development and neighborhood
programs. She was the founding manager of the Neighborhood Matching Fund
of the City of Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods, a Program Officer
for Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, a national affordable housing
developer, and the Neighborhood Programs Director of Neighborhood House.
She has received numerous awards for her achievements, including the
Seattle Management Association Outstanding Management Award in 2001. Ms.
Sadinsky was a founding volunteer member of Powerful Schools, playing a
leading role in the initial implementation of our first program, Community
Schools. |

Land Conservancy, speaker TBA, on the Cascade Agenda for protecting
and preserving lands in the Cascade Mountains from development. The
Cascade Agenda is a 100-year vision for the Central Cascade region,
stretching from Puget Sound to the Columbia River. The population of this
region will likely double in 100 years, to more than 7 million people. The
Cascade Agenda recognizes that conservation, our economy, and quality of
life are inextricably intertwined in planning for future growth. |

programs to help people meet the challenges in their lives. Many of these
materials are delivered via the internet and on compact disc. Edvita
offerings focus on life skills and human effectiveness with a special

Director, Saul and Dayee Haas
Foundation. Bonnie will speak about the mission and activity of the
Haas Foundation, providing resources for the benefit of schools. The
vision of the Foundation is to help
promising young people at critical times in their lives. To do that which
otherwise would not be timely done.
The
Foundation helps thousands of young people every year, and encourages the
adoption of schools among other activities. |
